Number Merge GUIDE
How to Build a Bigger Tile in 2048
A crowded board often comes from merging wherever a pair appears instead of protecting a route for the largest tile.
Play Number MergeDecision plan
Set up the position
Keep the largest tile in one corner.
Protect the next decision
Avoid alternating all four directions without a plan.
Convert the opportunity
Preserve an empty lane before creating a large merge.
A decision sequence in 2048
- Anchor the current largest tile in a corner and choose a supporting edge.
- Before each swipe, confirm that it preserves at least one empty lane for the next spawned tile.
- Combine the supporting row toward the anchor, then make the large merge without moving the anchor away.
Mistakes to avoid
- Swiping in all four directions and breaking the corner structure.
- Using the last empty cell for a small merge with no follow-up.
